Security Token Group (STG) is engaged as a venture company that is focused on building and developing the financial infrastructure to support the security token industry. Founded in 2017, the company operates three main businesses: Security Token Market, Security Token Advisors, and Security Token Capital.
The company’s Security Token Market (STM) subsidiary is the largest repository of security token trading data and news, which covers over 200 tokens with a current market cap of around $20 billion. STM recently made a splash with the announcement of its own tokenized crowdfunding campaign, which pulled in $6 million in pledges from over 1,000 investors across 25 countries in just the first 90 days.
Security Token Advisors (STA) is positioned as the consulting arm of STG, which assists asset owners, ranging from family offices to governments and sovereign funds, with completed successful securitization using blockchain technology. The consulting covers everything from legal support to broker-dealer engagements and more.
Security Token Capital (STC) is working on the launch of tokenized investment products that will be offered to investors. STC aims to help the security token industry through institutional investment products designed for larger investors. In addition, STC is building on tokenized offerings geared towards retail investors as well.
The crypto startup announced that it has raised $3 million in a Series A funding round, which was led by Blue Bay Ventures and featured participation from Blizzard Fund (VC fund of Ava Labs & Avalanche), Exodus, and more. STG says it will utilize the proceeds to expand its Security Token Advisors and Security Token Capital businesses.
“Blue Bay Ventures is long-term bullish on the future of tokenized assets and securities. Security Token Group is the company that is smack in the middle of it all. Herwig and Kyle are extraordinary entrepreneurs, and we have full faith in the team’s execution at STG. Its platform will certainly spearhead the adoption of the new security token industry in capital markets,” said Nico Pantelis, GP of Blue Bay Ventures.
